Last Wednesday Geckoella staff Jamie Foster and Josh Butterworth presented at the annual WWT Steart Research Day held this year at the Canalside Conference Centre, Bridgwater.
WWT Steart Marshes continues to be one of our very favourite sites and clients, comprising part of one of the best wildlife areas in the UK (Somerset Wetlands Super-NNR, within the Severn Estuary SPA/SSSI/SAC/Ramsar). We’ve worked with WWT on habitat and faunal surveys of inter-tidal, brackish, freshwater and terrestrial habitats, including opportunities for Citizen Science engagement.
This presentation highlighted the use of drones to complement ecological field work, and there was a good discussion with WWT, volunteers and partner organisations.
